Brush 38-41 At the present time the crew operates a 1997 Chevrolet 3500 four door, four wheel drive that is a cooperative vehicle from DCNR. The truck is set up as a crew and equipment transport. 2009 Haulin 7x14. The front is set up as a command post with radios for Blair, Clearfield, and Cambia county Fire/EMS and for State Forestry for all 20 districts. The back is set up for equipment storage. |

“The Deuce” - A 1990 2 ½-ton military brush truck that carries 3 people. It has a 500 GPM pump with 600 of gallons of water in its two tanks. It carries hundreds of feet of different size forestry and attack hose along with a large amount of supply line. It carries chainsaws, numerous saw kits, and other power equipment. The truck also has an extensive selection of forestry hand tools. This unit is used sparingly and usually only responds to major brush fires & mountain fires that are too big for Brush 36-1 to handle by itself. It is also sometimes used for water rescues in flooding conditions. 1999 Ford F-350 7.3 L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel with a Regular Cab that carries 2 people. It has a 250 GPM Darley pump with a Yanmar diesel engine on a skid unit with a 300 gallon tank. It carries 400 ft. of 1” pre-connected attack hose on a booster reel with an additional 600 ft. of 1” stored on the skid unit or in its compartments. It also is equipped with bumper mounted ground sweeps. In addition it carries a large amount of supply line and 24 ft. of hard suction hose. It carries 2 chainsaws and a saw kit along with a wide selection of forestry hand tools. It is equipped with a Whelen Light Package. |
