As you can see from the above photo down power lines caused this 4 acre fire. The fire Started in a valley which was a flood plane with mostly tall grasses, then spread up hill into the woods. Assistant Warden Corey Greene was the first 72 Crew member on scene. He followed brush 59 to the top of the hill at the head of the fire. Brush 59 got stuck in the mud and Corey had Joe Myers (who is a 72 member but was currently riding as officer in brush 59) take Corey's truck back out to the road and flag his way in. Corey then jumped a fence and under instruction of Chief 59, took charge of the head of the fire. Chief 52 and Corey were the only two there for what seemed like forever as the other personnel were trying to lay line up the left flank. Corey called to Chief 59 and said to abandon the hose lay due to the fact that the wind was about to shift the fire to the right flank. A few minutes later the fire started blowing up in some logging slash and Corey called for a chain saw. The chain saw arrived too late but it came with another fireman from 59 carrying a leaf blower. Also Assistant Dale Dubbs arrived on scene and aided in the progression of the right flank. Between the leaf blower and the chain saw a line was made from the right flank to a stone wall at the head which tied in all the way over to the left flank, containing the fire. About an hour later the fire was mopped up and called out.
