Wardens Report:Lately fire danger has been High and counties around us implementing burn bands
June:
Wardens Report: Fire season is over for now. Now it's time to focus on our Gettysburg fire protection detail.
April
Wardens Report:It looks like another wet fire season so far. Keep an eye on the weather, with a few sunny, windy days the 10 hour fuels can dry out enough to burn. Fire may run fast but shouldn't get deep seated just yet.
March
Wardens Report:The snow is starting to melt and the weather conditions are getting better for fire. We are seeing some trash and brush burning already in our area so get your gear ready.
Feb.
Wardens Report: This snow pack we are getting right now can effect this fire season. It's effect will depend on how fast it melts but we also have to look at the whole season. Spring rain along with this snow can make for a slow season unless we get low humidity and high wind speeds early this spring. The ground hog has spoken, 6 more weeks of winter will give us time to get our equipment ready to fight the great fire beast.
Jan. Wardens Report:
NEW YEARS RESOLUTION!!!
This year add the environment to your list of things to change. Don't go hug a tree, but if you go into the woods pack out the trash you pack in, ask about burning regulations in your area, and take your family to a state park or forest for a good time!
